Sanlorenzo Unveils First Superyacht with Green Methanol Fuel Cell System

Sanlorenzo recently launched the 50Steel superyacht at their La Spezia shipyard, marking a significant innovation in the yachting industry. Named MY Almax, this vessel is the first superyacht to feature a green methanol fuel cell system, capable of producing 100kW of energy with zero emissions for onboard services. Additionally, another innovative feature is the HER (Hidden Engine Room) system, which maximizes space by redesigning the engine room layout.

Sanlorenzo has three more 50Steel superyachts on order, each costing around €30 million, with potential price reductions as production scales. The company is also designing larger models. The patented HER system enables new spatial configurations, including the Ocean Lounge, which connects to the Beach Club and guest areas. The 50Steel spans five decks, offering spacious, elegant areas with minimal partitions.
