D-Marin Sold for Over €1bn Amid Strong Demand for Marina Assets

Private equity firm CVC Capital Partners has agreed to sell premium marina operator D-Marin to French infrastructure investor InfraVia in a deal reportedly valuing the company at between €1 billion and €1.5 billion, marking one of the largest transactions in the global marina sector.

Although financial terms were not officially disclosed, the acquisition underscores growing investor confidence in the marina industry, which continues to benefit from increasing yacht ownership, limited berth availability, and strong demand across the Mediterranean.

Athens-headquartered D-Marin operates 28 marinas across Europe and the Middle East, including 22 in the Mediterranean, offering approximately 14,300 berths and managing 12 professional boatyards. The company serves more than 50,000 customers annually.

CVC acquired D-Marin from Turkey's Doğuş Group in 2020 for around €200 million. During its ownership, the company expanded into new markets and reportedly tripled its revenues, positioning itself as one of the leading premium marina operators in the EMEA region.

"The business has been transformed from a hidden gem into the clear market leader in premium marinas across Europe and the wider EMEA region," CVC Managing Partner István Szőke said following the announcement.

The deal is the latest in a series of high-profile marina investments as infrastructure and private equity funds target the sector. Investors have increasingly been drawn to marinas due to their stable, recurring revenues and the industry's significant supply-demand imbalance.
