Where Is Putin-Linked Superyacht Graceful Heading After Being Spotted Near Denmark?
A yacht linked to Russian President Vladimir Putin was spotted off the Danish coast on the evening of Monday, June 29, according to Danish broadcaster DR, which reported the sighting based on vessel-tracking data from MarineTraffic.
According to MarineTraffic vessel-tracking data, the superyacht’s destination is listed as Istanbul. The 82-metre Graceful was seen sailing with a Russian destroyer and the patrol boat Voyevoda, with photographs from shore and satellite imagery confirming the vessel’s identity.
The superyacht had remained largely off radar since August 2022, when its Automatic Identification System (AIS) transponder was reportedly switched off following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The vessel was later reported to have been renamed Kosatka and spotted in the Baltic Sea.
Estimated to be worth between $100 million and $120 million, Graceful is considered one of the largest yachts associated with Putin, alongside the 140-metre Scheherazade. The yacht was among vessels linked to the Russian president that were sanctioned by the United States in 2022.
