Linked to sanctioned Russian billionaire Alexei Mordashov, the yacht sailed from Dubai to Muscat over the weekend, making it one of the few private vessels to cross the strategic waterway in recent months. The passage comes amid heightened tensions between Iran and the United States, with shipping volumes in the strait significantly reduced.

Delivered in 2021 by German shipyard Lürssen, Nord is a multi-award-winning superyacht known for its distinctive bow design. Both the exterior and interior were designed by Italian studio Nuvolari Lenard, while Lürssen handled the naval architecture.

It remains unclear whether the yacht received formal clearance to transit the route, which has been subject to Iranian warnings and US countermeasures. The vessel did not indicate any stop in Iranian waters during its journey.
