Luxury Superyacht Sea Lady II Badly Damaged by Fire in St Tropez

A dramatic fire broke out aboard the 41.3-meter superyacht Sea Lady II on Thursday evening, July 10, while docked at the prestigious Port de Saint Tropez on the French Riviera. Videos shared on social media captured thick black smoke billowing from the vessel, which is available for charter from €65,000 per week during the summer season.

The blaze reportedly began in the bow of the yacht around 8:00 p.m., just two hours after it entered the port. The fire quickly spread to the lower decks, making it difficult for firefighters to board and contain the flames. Emergency teams evacuated two crew members, who were treated for minor smoke inhalation.

Anti-pollution barriers were deployed as a precaution, and nearby yachts were promptly moved away. Firefighters managed to bring the fire under control by midnight, but Sea Lady II is now listing slightly, raising fears that she may sink in port.

Built in 1986 and refitted in 2016, Sea Lady II is the flagship of British yard W.A. Souter & Sons. She features a sleek exterior by Don Shead Yacht Design and interiors by French designer Frédéric Mechiche. The super yacht can accommodate up to 10 guests in five luxurious cabins, with highlights including a semi-circular saloon bar and al fresco dining on the aft deck.
