Leona Wins Prestigious Motor Yacht Over 60 Metres Award
The 80-meter superyacht M/Y Leona, a standout from Bilgin Yachts' renowned 263 series, has clinched the prestigious Motor Yacht Over 60 Metres Award at the International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2024. The award ceremony took place in Cannes on May 31st, celebrating excellence in yacht and aviation design.
Marketing Director Tuğba Şengün accepted the award on behalf of Bilgin Yachts. "We are deeply honored and grateful to be recognized by the International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2024. This accolade for Leona reflects our commitment to excellence in luxury yacht design," she stated. Şengün also acknowledged the collaborative effort with Unique Yacht Design and H2 Yacht Design in creating this extraordinary superyacht.
Leona made a grand debut at the 2023 Monaco Yacht Show, captivating audiences with her striking design and luxurious features. She further solidified her reputation by winning first place in the "Outstanding Exterior Design - Motor Yachts, 60m and above" category at the BOAT International Design & Innovation Awards 2024.
Designed by Unique Yacht Design with interiors crafted by H2 Yacht Design, Leona embodies a perfect blend of sleek, eco-friendly exterior design and opulent, spacious interiors. The yacht is noted for its larger accommodations and elegant aesthetic, featuring a distinctive red and white hull, which sets it apart from its sister ship, Tatiana.
Emrecan Özgün, CEO of Unique Yacht Design, highlighted Leona's unique color combination as a key differentiator in exterior design. The yacht offers generous socializing spaces, including a large spa and beach club, while maintaining a sporty, bullet-like appearance.
Leona stands out with an elongated profile and clean, linear design that maximizes deck and interior space despite a narrow beam. She emphasizes environmental stewardship with a steel-aluminum structure and an exhaust system for 100% clean air emissions. Powered by two 2,560 kW engines, she achieves speeds up to 19 knots, combining performance and sustainability.
