Dan Lenard Sets Guinness World Record in Nonstop Sailing

Dan Lenard, the world-renowned yacht designer and co-founder of Nuvolari Lenard has finally done it. The 57-year-old sailor has broken a Guinness World Record by covering 285 miles of nonstop sailing in the Adriatic.

Alone on his small boat, he never anchored, slept on board, and relied only on the supplies he had carefully packed in advance. Since setting out on August 12, Lenard has stayed true to the principles of the Vela Code - no emissions, no single-use plastics, not even bottled water.

From August 12 to 18, he spent nearly six and a half days completely alone at sea, unable to anchor or accept any assistance. In that time, he covered 285 miles in 147 hours and 41 minutes. Every moment of his journey, through the Zadar archipelago and the Kornati islands, was logged on his watch and followed live on a tracking page.

His achievement is not just about endurance; it’s also a call to protect our seas, the very heart of the Vela Code movement.

The Vela Code, created by Dan Lenard, is a cultural and environmental initiative that seeks to reshape yachting by eliminating single-use plastics on board and championing pure sailing as a direct act of environmental responsibility.
