Will the Dubai Boat Show 2026 Go Ahead?
Visitors and exhibitors are wondering if the Dubai Boat Show 2026 will happen this year. Regional tensions have made the industry watch the situation closely.
The status of the 2026 Dubai International Boat Show, scheduled to take place from 8–12 April, remains under close watch as rising geopolitical tensions in the Gulf create uncertainty across the yachting sector.
According to information obtained from several exhibiting companies, the latest communication suggests that the show is still expected to go ahead, though participants have been advised to “stay tuned for updates.” Despite this message, many firms remain hesitant while monitoring developments in the region.
One of the key concerns involves the transport of yachts to the show. Companies exhibiting vessels are evaluating how their boats will be shipped to Dubai by sea. Sources indicate that some transport vessels are currently waiting for a second announcement before loading, adding another layer of uncertainty to logistics planning.
Insurance is also becoming an important issue. The temporary withdrawal of war-risk insurance in the Gulf region is raising questions about whether yacht transport and event operations could face difficulties. However, it should be noted that war-risk coverage can still be arranged by paying an additional premium, typically around 1–2% of a vessel’s value.
In addition, flight cancellations affecting parts of the region are complicating travel planning for international visitors and exhibitors.
Despite the uncertainty, yacht production in the region continues. Sources indicate that Gulf Craft - the UAE-based builder known for its Majesty Yachts line - is continuing manufacturing operations as normal.
For now, the industry remains in a wait-and-see mode, with exhibitors, logistics providers and visitors closely monitoring developments ahead of April.
