Superyacht Amadea Sold for US$187 Million to Dubai Billionaire

The new owner of the 106.1-metre superyacht Amadea has already made the yacht his own. Dubai entrepreneur Abbas Sajwani, just 27 years old, has replaced its helipad with a pickleball court after acquiring the vessel. (Image credit: U.S Department of Justice)

According to CNBC, Sajwani, founder of Dubai-based AHS Properties, purchased Amadea for US$187 million in a U.S. government auction.

The yacht was seized in Fiji in 2022 after U.S. authorities alleged it belonged to sanctioned Russian billionaire Suleiman Kerimov. Following years of legal proceedings, the vessel was auctioned after reportedly costing the U.S. government up to US$1 million per month to maintain.

Built by Lürssen and delivered in 2017, Amadea accommodates 16 guests and 36 crew. Its amenities include an infinity pool, cinema, spa, hammam and winter garden.

Sajwani has also revealed that he turned down offers exceeding the price he paid, indicating that Amadea is likely to remain part of his personal fleet.
