Seven Yachts Sank After Fire at a Marina in Bodrum

A fire that erupted aboard yachts moored at a marina in Bodrum has caused significant concern in one of Türkiye’s yachting hubs.

According to initial reports, the incident began with an explosion on board a vessel for reasons yet to be determined. Driven by strong winds, the fire rapidly spread to adjacent yachts, escalating within minutes.

As reported, five yachts, each approximately 20 metres in length, were initially engulfed in flames. After the fire expanded, seven of the motor yachts sank, while one sustained damage.

Emergency services, including fire crews, police and medical teams, were dispatched to the scene by land, while coast guard and maritime safety units responded from the water, coordinating efforts to prevent further spread.
