Qatar's $500M Royal Superyacht Al Lusail Completes $35M Refit at Lürssen Shipyard in Germany
The Al Lusail, the 123 meter (404-feet) superyacht of Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, has returned to service following a seven-month refit at Lürssen's Bremen/Lemwerder shipyard in Germany — the same yard that originally built her in 2017. The overhaul, estimated to have cost around $35 million, is the vessel's first major publicly documented refit since her delivery. Work included hull and underwater gear inspections, propeller and rudder servicing, generator and HVAC maintenance, automation updates, a full hull repaint, teak restoration across six decks, and attention to the yacht's signature glass façades.
The 123-metre megayacht departed Lemwerder on June 20, passed Gibraltar on June 26, and is now back in the Mediterranean in time for the 2026 summer season. Valued at approximately $500 million, Al Lusail can accommodate 36 guests across 18 suites, with a crew of 56.
