Japanese and Scandinavian Spirit: Superyacht Bijin

When a yacht broker and a client fall in love, the result can be more than a successful sale—it can be a superyacht with a story. Photo @marino_teobaldo

Superyacht Bijin has recently attracted attention following a Forbes interview with her owners, Wim De Pundert and Eleonora Pitasso. The interview offers insight into both the personal story behind the yacht and the design philosophy that defines her.

De Pundert and Pitasso met during a yacht sale, where Eleonora was working as a yacht broker and Wim was the client. That professional meeting later developed into a partnership that would shape the identity of Bijin. Eleonora Pitasso is a seasoned superyacht industry expert with over a decade of experience as a shipyard specialist and sales broker.

In the interview, Wim describes Bijin as a blend of “Japanese minimalism with Scandinavian warmth and sophistication,” a concept reflected throughout the yacht’s calm, refined aesthetic.

Bijin, a Japanese term meaning "beautiful woman."

The multi-award-winning expedition yacht Bijin, built by Dutch shipyard Heesen, is available for charter, offering guests the opportunity to experience this distinctive design vision firsthand.
