Hatteras Love of a Superyacht Builder

During an interview with SuperYacht Times, Mohammed Al Barwani, owner of Turquoise Yachts, shared his long-standing passion for Hatteras yachts.

For Al Barwani - owner of one of the world’s most respected superyacht shipyards - yachting has always been driven by genuine passion. His journey began with small boats and naturally progressed as his experience grew. His first large yacht was a Hatteras, a choice that created a lasting bond. One Hatteras led to another, and today he is on his third: the 32-metre Sharifa, a well-known and much-loved yacht based in Oman.

This personal relationship with yachting also defines how he builds yachts. Each yacht is conceived as one he is building for himself. However, as he openly admits, if a client appears and likes and wants to buy the yacht, he is happy to let it go - knowing there will always be another one. It is this balance between personal vision and openness to clients that continues to shape his approach to yacht building.
