For over 35 million dollars: Qatar’s Emir is having his superyacht refurbished in Bremen

The Emir of Qatar’s 123-metre-long superyacht, the “Al Lusail”, underwent extensive refurbishment at the Lürssen shipyard in Bremen. The work took around seven months and reportedly cost more than 35 million US dollars.

As part of the general overhaul, the hull was repainted, the wooden decks were refurbished, and technical systems such as the generators, air-conditioning, propellers and the rudder were serviced or replaced. The new paintwork alone is said to have cost tens of millions.

The luxury yacht was built by Lürssen back in 2016 and, with an estimated value of around 500 million US dollars, ranks among the world’s most exclusive vessels. It can accommodate 36 guests and 56 crew members and features numerous amenities such as a helipad, a cinema, a spa area, several swimming pools and a gym. Following completion of the modernisation, the “Al Lusail” has left the shipyard and is now back in service in the Mediterranean.
