Did the U.S. Navy Hit a Superyacht Carrying Clarence Thomas?

In November 2025, a bizarre rumor spread across social media claiming that the U.S. Navy had accidentally struck a superyacht carrying Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas near Venezuela.

Posts on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and Threads shared headlines such as “Navy Accidentally Strikes Superyacht Carrying Clarence Thomas Near Venezuela.” One viral post from November 1 quickly sparked confusion and speculation online.

However, the story is completely false. No credible news outlets or official sources have reported any such incident, and there is no evidence that the Navy was involved in an accident with a yacht carrying Justice Thomas.

The rumor appears to have originated from a satirical Facebook post by writer Andy Borowitz, known for his parody news content. Despite its humorous intent, many users took the claim literally, spreading it as real news.

In reality, no collision occurred, and the claim has been clearly labeled as satire, not fact.
