Beyoncé and Jay-Z Leave $630K Tip on 136m Superyacht

Beyoncé and Jay-Z made waves aboard the 136-meter (446 ft) superyacht "Flying Fox" (now HADAR)—not just for its luxury, but for their generosity. The couple reportedly left the 54-person crew $630,000, a tip nearly as impressive as the yacht itself, according to Supercar Blondie.

The gratuity reflects the standard 20% tip on the yacht’s $3.5 million weekly charter fee, though with a sum this large, it was likely handled via wire transfer rather than cash. For the crew, already serving on one of the world’s most extraordinary yachts, it was a memorable bonus.

"Flying Fox" / HADAR, built by Lürssen and designed by Espen Oeino with interiors by Mark Berryman, carries 22 guests in 11 cabins and 54 crew in 25 cabins. The yacht boasts a two-story spa, deck-wide pool, jacuzzi, beauty salon, movie theater, and more. Powered by MTU engines, it reaches 20 knots, with a volume of 9,100 tons. The vessel cost $400 million and made headlines when it hosted Beyoncé’s 40th birthday in 2021.

Tip insight: On superyachts of this scale, crew tips typically range from $100,000 to $700,000, putting Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s generosity near the top end of the spectrum.
