History: Founded as "Empacher & Karlisch Bootswerft" in Königsberg in 1923.
Before World War II, sailboats and motor yachts were built.
After WW II, the name changed in "Sportbootwerft Karlisch & Sörensen". Later once more in "Norddeutsche Sportbootwerft Wilhelm Karlisch".
Wilhelm Karlisch passed away in 1969.
In December 1990, the company was liquidated.

Tamsen Maritim is based at the Baltic Sea in Rostock, Germany. The tradition of this boatyard stretches back to Albrecht Tischbein who had started his business as 'Schiffswerft und Maschinenbauanstalt' here back in 1850. Over time the operation came to be known as 'Schiffswerft Neptun'. In 2002 production of GRP hulls up to 50 m was started and in 2009 Tamsen Maritim took over.
