Yacht Description
SY LETAFET is a 13.50-metre bluewater sailing yacht built in Denmark in 1987 to a design by the renowned naval architecture firm Elvstrøm & Kjærulff Yacht Design, founded by Paul Elvstrøm and Jan Kjærulff.
LETAFET is one of only three yachts built to this design. The aluminium hull was constructed by Oland Brothers, while Henriques was involved in the final construction and interior finishing works.
Her robust aluminium construction, fin keel, skeg-hung rudder, and sloop rig make her an attractive choice for extended offshore cruising.
Particular attention should be given to the extensive refit carried out in 2025–2026, during which the hull, deck, rigging, engine, onboard systems, and a substantial amount of equipment were refurbished or upgraded.
Deck, Cockpit and Pilothouse
The protected teak-lined cockpit features a large leather-covered steering wheel and a portable wooden table, comfortably accommodating four people.
Wide side decks with high bulwarks provide convenient and secure movement around the yacht.
In September 2025, the hull and deck were completely repainted, the non-slip deck surfaces were renewed, and the teak cockpit seams were resealed.
Access from the cockpit to the protected pilothouse is through a refurbished three-section teak door.
The pilothouse provides 360-degree panoramic visibility and allows watchkeeping in a sheltered environment, protected from adverse weather conditions. It is equipped with navigation instruments, a chartplotter, GPS, and an autopilot control unit. Seating on both port and starboard sides accommodates four people.
A spacious engine room is located beneath the pilothouse, providing convenient access to the engine and main technical systems.
Interior and Accommodation
LETAFET features a classic nautical interior with warm wooden finishes, creating the atmosphere of a traditional bluewater sailing yacht.
A few steps lead down from the pilothouse into the spacious saloon.
To starboard, there is a U-shaped dining area with a table accommodating up to eight people. To port are a linear galley, a diesel heater, and a navigation table.
The galley is equipped with a gas cooker and oven, a spacious refrigerator, and numerous storage compartments.
During the refit, the interior flooring was renewed, new Corian countertops were installed in the galley and bathroom, and the mattresses in the aft cabins were replaced.
The accommodation layout comprises three cabins:
• Two aft cabins with double berths.
• One forward cabin with two separate single berths.
• One bathroom with a toilet and shower, completely refurbished in September 2025.
A new 44-litre holding tank was installed in the bathroom.
Thermal insulation is fitted in the interior areas specified by the owner, helping to maintain comfortable temperatures on board.
Engine and Technical Equipment
The yacht is powered by a 75 HP Yanmar 4JH4-TE diesel engine, which underwent a complete overhaul and was installed during the refit in September 2025.
The engine is coupled to a ZF30M gearbox and a three-blade MaxProp propeller through a shaft-drive transmission.
At the same time, the Volvo shaft seal, Cutless bearings, engine control cables, electrical connections, and fuel system pipework were renewed.
The fuel tank was cleaned, and a new fuel level sender was installed.
In 2025, the steering system was also serviced, including replacement of the rudder bearing and steering cables.
Sail Plan and Rigging
LETAFET is equipped with an aluminium mast, boom, and spinnaker pole, all of which were serviced and repainted in 2025.
The standing and running rigging were completely renewed as part of the 2025–2026 refit by Moss Rigging. According to the owner, a report detailing the completed work can be provided to prospective buyers.
The sail inventory was inspected and serviced by UK Sailmakers in 2025.
The sail inventory includes a mainsail with three reefing points, two genoas, a spinnaker, and a gennaker.
The yacht is also equipped with a genoa furling system, a mechanical backstay tensioner, running backstays, and Lewmar winches, all serviced in 2025 where applicable.
Autonomy and Onboard Systems
For extended passages, LETAFET is equipped with a Paguro 4000 generator, a Tecnicomar watermaker with a capacity of 60 litres per hour, a 55-litre Isotemp water heater, a Reflex MK66 diesel heater, and a 200-litre refrigerator.
During 2025–2026, major components of the watermaker and refrigeration system were renewed, while the heater, water heater, and galley equipment were serviced.
Fuel capacity is 370 litres, and fresh water capacity is 350 litres.
Condition and Location
In October 2025, new antifouling was applied to the underwater hull, the anodes were replaced, and the yacht was subsequently relaunched.
According to the owner, no corrosion has been identified on the hull.
The yacht represents an attractive opportunity for buyers seeking a classic Danish-built aluminium sailing vessel with a protected pilothouse, a practical accommodation layout, and a substantial amount of recently completed technical work.... texto completo
