Modern classic 90% ready refit 2025/2026

Koopmans 36 CC - a modern classic with a new chapter

Some ships you buy with your head.

Others with your heart.

This Koopmans 36 Center Cockpit undoubtedly belongs in the latter category.

Built in 1983 at Huizer Marina - one of only three ever built - this ship breathes craftsmanship and tradition from the very first glance. The lines are unmistakably Koopmans: slender, seaworthy and timeless. But what makes this ship really special is what has happened recently.

A classic, brought back to life

Recently this Koopmans has undergone a very thorough refit, which is now about 90% complete (2025/2026). In the process, the ship is in a heated hall and is still being carefully finished every week.

The steel hull (5-6 mm) has been completely re-treated and painted with a professional 2-component system by De IJssel. The deck and superstructure - made of 18 mm WWV plywood topped with 8-10 mm solid teak - are in renovation phase, with seams being partially re-rubbed.

This is not a cosmetic refresh, but a serious investment in the future of the ship.

Sailing as it is meant to be

Anyone stepping aboard will immediately see that sailing performance has not been skimped on here.

The virtually new sail wardrobe consists of a high-quality Quantum Fusion ZLX set (polyester TT Crosscut), with a battened mainsail (31 sq. ft.), high aspect jib and genoa (43 sq. ft.). There is also an impressive tri-radial asymmetrical Code Zero (106 sq. ft.) with stainless steel overflow fittings.

Also featured:

Spinnaker (106 m²)

Gennaker (73 m²)

Storm jib

Second sail set by De Vries

The Sparcraft mast (aluminum, approx. 16.5 m) with boom and spinnaker boom, together with the renewed Lewmar overflow system and 8 manual winches, form a complete and modern rigging package.

Reliable technology, modern comfort

Below deck and in the technology, the ship has been brought to a contemporary level.

The reliable Volkswagen diesel engine (45 hp, approx. 3,750 operating hours) with shaft drive (D-Drive) is supported by a well thought-out system of power and comfort:

Victron Phoenix MultiPlus 12/3000-120 inverter

Victron isolator, diode bridge and VE.Bus Multi Control

New batteries (2025)

12V and 220V installation with multiple connections

60 Amp alternator

Navigation and safety are also complete:

Raymarine C90W chartplotter (Europe)

Radar on stainless steel mast

ST70 instruments

Autopilot with rudder position transmitter

AIS, GPS, VHF radio (Sailtron RT80)

Plath bronze compass

There is also a new Vetus hydraulic steering system (installation 2026) with a classic teak steering wheel.

Comfort on board - classic and warm

Inside, the ship is finished by ship carpentry company De Gooier, entirely in teak. The atmosphere is warm and nautical, with a clear focus on comfort and livability.

The owner's version features:

3 staterooms

7 berths

Headroom ranging from 1.45 m to approx. 2.00 m

Recent innovations make all the difference:

New cushions and upholstery

Corian worktops in galley and wet areas

Luxury mixer taps (hot/cold)

Stainless steel sink with pull-out shower head

Technical comfort is ample:

Eberspächer diesel heater (4 outputs)

Hot water via 20L boiler and motor system

Water pressure system with copper pipes and expansion tank

Electric toilet with dirty water system (unused)

Deck equipment & safety

Everything has been thought of outside as well:

Complete cockpit tent and sails

Teak cockpit

Renewed anchor box with polyester bottom

Danforth anchor with chain and 50 meter line

Swim ladder and deck shower

Lifelines, harnesses and life jackets

Hand and electric bilge pump

Fire safety and emergency equipment complete

A ship with possibilities

With a length of 10.80 meters, width of 3.40 meters and a displacement of approximately 8,000 kg, this is a solid and comfortable ship, suitable for both longer trips and relaxed stays on board.

The ballast of 3,000 kg and the well-considered hull shape ensure the seaworthiness for which Koopmans is renowned.

The current phase - your opportunity

The ship is in the completion phase of the refit. That means:

Technically largely finished

Interior and deck still in finishing

Possibility to determine last details to your own taste

Precisely this phase makes it interesting: a ship of this level, with these investments, but not yet "discounted" as a full turnkey yacht.
