The Boreas is a former sailing freighter built in 1900 in Papendrecht, which was later converted to a motor freighter in the fifties. Now it is a historic living ship with a transferable berth in Tholen. ( Wheelchair accessible jetty ) The ship has been cosily converted and has always been very well maintained by the current owner. Thus there is a purification system built in for the waste water by the firm:Afmitech from Joure. The ship has a valid inspection until 2026 (C.V.O.) for sailing living on inland waterways. The headroom is approx. 5 meters with wheelhouse and approx. 3.40 with wheelhouse folded down.In 2000, the plane including the construction ( tracks / rail truss connections and bilges ) completely renewed (6 mm) and preserved with tectyl.
