In 1976, Oy Botnia Marine Ab was founded by Johan and Britt-Marie Carpelan.
At the begin, producing sailboats (H-boats)
In 1997, Sunwind Yachts boatyard purchased (Finland).

Founded under the name Sipla in Forli (Italy) in 1961. At the beginning of the 1970ies the name changed to Comar.

A company created in 1958, Pearson Yachts quickly became a high production builder of sailing yachts. At one time building a boat every day, types of fiberglass boats sold under the Pearson Yachts name ranged from the 12-foot Petrel to a 53-foot vessel. Controlled by Grumman Allied Industries since 1961, Pearson Yachts was sold to a private investment company in 1986 that would incorporate large powerboats in later years. Pearson Yachts history ended 1991 but the several brand names of the marine company would combine into another manufacturer.

Swedish boat builder founded by Ivar Gustafsson and best known for it's luxury powerboats. The company is located at Västervik, Sweden. Still in business building large yachts and commercial craft.

Groupe Alliaura Marine was formed in 1996 by SGGR Holdings when the organisation bought Jeantot Marine, the originator and builder of the Privilege line of luxury catamarans. The brand continued to flourish under the new ownership with the development of new maufacturing techniques and a confident evolution of the designs themselves to address changes in the market. With the regular launch of models, Privilege yachts still sets new standards in production luxury cruising multihulls.

Alliaura Marine introduced the Transcat range of power catamarans in 1998 and in 2000 the company bought Kirié, the maker of the Feeling range of sailing monohulls and J Composites, the builder of J Boats.
