She has a round-bilge hull and is equipped with external steering and a steering wheel. The boat was impounded by the municipality of Amsterdam and was not collected by the owner. After the statutory retention period had expired, she was included in this auction.
The rescue launch is worth viewing for anyone looking for a practical boat for use on inland waterways, canals, ditches, lakes, ponds and rivers. Her layout and specifications are suitable for day trips and recreational boating, while her generous dimensions offer possibilities for various forms of leisure boating. The condition of the boat is described as reasonable. As no maintenance records are available, it is advisable to assess her carefully during the viewing day.
Rescue Launch 800 now in the online auction. Everyone can place bids until 14 December 2026.What engine does the boat have? The Rescue Launch 800 is equipped with a single Volvo Penta inboard engine. It is a three-cylinder diesel engine with electric start. The engine has a tachometer, oil pressure gauge, temperature gauge and fuel tank gauge. The engine’s operation is currently unknown. It is therefore not possible to comment on whether it starts, its performance or its technical condition.
There is no battery present. This means that the electric start and the available electrical systems cannot necessarily be assessed during the viewing day. A battery charger is present. The boat is also equipped with an electric bilge pump. The operation of both the engine and the electrical installations requires further investigation by the buyer.
What is known about the technical condition? No information is available about when the boat was last taken out of the water for maintenance. The date of the last antifouling treatment is also unknown. The hull is made of polyester and, as with any used boat, deserves careful attention during the viewing. Among other things, inspect the hull, underwater section, connections, steering system and engine compartment.
Steering is external, with a steering wheel and a single rudder. No bow thruster is fitted. The technical information is based on the available data, and an additional inspection during the viewing day remains important. Any work, replacement of parts or further inspection is at the buyer’s expense and risk.
Is this boat suitable for your plans? That depends on how you intend to use her and on the technical assessment you make during the viewing day. Her length may be appealing for relaxed day trips on inland waterways. The combination of a diesel engine, external steering and a round-bilge hull makes her interesting for anyone looking for a characterful and practical motorboat.
At the same time, you should take into account the unknown operating condition of the engine and the absence of a battery. The boat is offered in reasonable condition and not as a ready-to-use vessel with an established technical condition. Anyone considering buying a second-hand boat would be well advised to determine a realistic budget in advance for inspection, transport, a battery, maintenance and possible repairs.
What is included? No trailer is included with the boat, and a tender is not part of the offer either. The equipment present includes the external steering system with steering wheel, the Volvo Penta diesel engine, the aforementioned gauges, a battery charger and an electric bilge pump.
The viewing day is the appropriate opportunity to inspect the equipment present, the general condition and the accessibility of the various technical components. Also check whether the dimensions and weight are suitable for your berth, transport options and cruising area. As no trailer is included, you should consider transport and launching arrangements in advance.
What should you look out for during the viewing day?During the viewing day, you can inspect her up close and assess the condition of the hull, deck, cockpit, interior and engine compartment. Also pay attention to signs of moisture, wear, loose parts, cables, hoses and the condition of the steering system. Consider which work is immediately necessary and which items can be addressed in the longer term.
This Rescue Launch 800 is particularly interesting for a buyer who is prepared to carry out their own investigation and take uncertainties into account. Anyone searching online for tips on buying a boat will often find the advice not to focus only on appearance, but also to consider maintenance history, engine condition, electrical systems and logistics. That advice is especially relevant for this boat, as various details are unavailable.
Who might be interested in this auction? This auction may suit someone specifically looking for a spacious polyester motorboat with a diesel engine and who has experience assessing or arranging inspections of used boats. The Rescue Launch 800 has a distinctive appearance and practical dimensions, but requires a clear-headed assessment of its technical starting point.
If you are considering buying a boat that offers scope for carrying out your own work, this rescue launch could provide an interesting starting point. Inspect her carefully during the viewing day, take the available information into account when making your decision and allow for additional costs after purchase. The boat is offered in the condition in which she is found.
