Zodiac Milpro MK 6 HD for Professional UseWhat type of boat is the Zodiac Milpro MK 6 HD?The Zodiac Milpro MK 6 HD is a professional rigid inflatable boat from 2018, built for intensive use at sea and in demanding conditions. She is 7 metres long, 2.88 metres wide and has a draft of approximately 35 centimetres. Her overall height is approximately 74 centimetres. With a weight of around 320 kilograms, she is suitable for transport, deployment from a larger vessel and use in locations where accessibility and load capacity are important.
This version was developed for transporting people and equipment at higher speeds. Her Futura hull design, with trimaran-like characteristics and lateral stabilisers, provides a wide and stable base on the water. The boat is made of heavy-duty Hypalon with a strength of 1670 dtx. The construction has been reinforced at multiple points to withstand the intensive use for which Milpro boats are designed.
What was she used for? This MK 6 HD was used commercially by an organisation involved in expedition cruises. She was used to transport people from an expedition cruise ship to remote islands and ice floes. The operating areas consisted of seas, and the boat was used in conditions associated with expeditions to destinations including Greenland, Alaska, Iceland, Svalbard, Norway and Antarctica.
The boat is designed for a maximum of twenty people or a maximum total load of 4,100 kilograms, including the engine and fuel. For the actual load, it is important to take local regulations, engine power, water conditions and the distribution of people and equipment into account. Her professional specification makes her suitable for expedition equipment, support work, rescue operations, transport and larger-scale recreational use.
What condition is the boat in?The boat is described as being in reasonable condition. She shows signs of use consistent with her previous service as a professional RIB. This means you should expect visible signs of use and the usual points of attention associated with a boat that has regularly been deployed from a vessel and in remote areas.
At the same time, the Milpro MK 6 HD was designed for heavy and intensive use. Her construction, choice of materials and reinforcements are intended for conditions in which a recreational standard RIB would be less suitable. The boat has been inspected and is stored in a warehouse in Ravenstein, the Netherlands. During the viewing day, you can inspect her extensively and assess the condition of the tubes, hull, fittings, storage compartments and other visible components yourself.
What is included? This Zodiac Milpro MK 6 HD comes with aluminium floor sections and a bow compartment. The aluminium floor provides the boat with a solid base and supports the transport of people and equipment. The bow compartment offers additional storage space for materials that need to remain easily accessible during transport or an expedition.
A CE document is available. For further technical information, please refer to the attached specification sheet. The available information regarding the specification, load capacity and dimensions is detailed further in this document. Any engine and other equipment are only included in the sale if this is stated separately in the auction information.
Is this boat suitable for your plans? This boat is particularly suitable if you are looking for a professional RIB with a generous load capacity and robust construction. She may be of interest for expeditions, support work from a mother ship, transport to coastal areas or activities where stability and available space are important. For purely recreational use, it is advisable to assess beforehand whether her professional specification, dimensions and signs of use match your expectations.
When looking to buy a boat, people often consider a combination of size, load capacity, materials and condition. With this MK 6 HD, particular attention should be paid to the Hypalon tubes, aluminium floor, reinforcements and previous use. If you are looking to buy a second-hand boat, it is wise to consider not only the year of construction, but also the boat’s service history and visible condition.
What should you look out for during the viewing day?During the viewing day, you can inspect the boat up close. Pay attention to the overall condition of the Hypalon, the seams, valves, attachment points and the connections between the aluminium floor sections. Also inspect the bow compartment, the HDPE storage space and any signs of intensive loading and unloading. In addition, check whether the dimensions and available space suit the transport and storage arrangements you have in mind.
Good boat-buying tips include determining your intended use in advance, comparing the desired capacity with the available specifications and carefully inspecting all included components. If you are unsure about the technical suitability, bring an expert to the viewing day. This will give you a realistic impression of the boat before placing a bid.
