In April 2020 during the pandemic, we were heading south from the Bahamas out of the hurricane zone, destination was Martinique. From where we also came. We wanted to make various checks on the boat, including a rig check, but unfortunately, everything was closed by the pandemic. And there were no possibilities. So we went at the risk direction south, at the height of Puerto Rico, a bolt on the starboard side let go, which released the shroud. The mast fell, we cut all the steel ropes, all the fasteners loose and left the mast, all the sails and the complete rig on the seabed. The boat fortunately suffered no other damage except for a solar panel, but we have already replaced and repaired this. We went under the motor to Puerto Rico. (The boat has about 4000 engine hours). Everything has already been prepared for the repair, and inspected what exactly needs to be done. I will have the complete offer from the rigger and US Spars available in the next few days.
