There’s no doubt that an Atlantis 47 is one of the most gorgeous yachts ever built, just look how stunning the Italian craftsmen shaped her lines. They just did a fantastic job! This Atlantis 47 has been wrapped by us just before we delivered the boat to it’s current owner. If you dislike it we can simply peel of the wrap and you will find a traditional blue hull, white superstructure Atlantis.
…and if you believe it is just the outer shell that looks magnificent you’re wrong. It takes only three steps down to enter a whole new era of yacht design. I’ve seen many yachts in my life but there’s no substitute to the outer and inner looks other than an Atlantis 47.
Stylish flamboyant is probably the best way to describe the yard’s most successful yacht.
Manoeuvring
Twin shafts and twin thrusters, there’s nothing else that can beat it. Not only shaft propulsion is the most reliable way to move a boat, it is also the finest when it comes to docking it. This example is also equipped with bow and stern thrusters, necessary? Not at all, but handy sometimes or when you’re a beginner in water sports you most likely can’t live without it.
Performance
So we have spoken about the exterior and interior, but what about the performance?
…well, 30 knots with only 2 x 480hp! The designer started well with installing Volvo’s most reliable engine ever built. The last evolution of TAMD series was called the TAMD75p-evc and benefits of full mechanical fuel injection, only controlled by a digital system. Unlike her newer D-series these engines just need fuel, air and oil to run forever and in the event the have to swallow some water they cough a little and continue working instead of burning a hole in one of the pistons.
A very sharp deep-V bow will cut the water with easy and keep it comfortable when ploughing through heavy seas. From the deep-V the lines continue to flatten out towards her stern where only about 11 degrees angle keep the yacht lifted almost full out of the water. The result is a yacht that turns sharp, goes fast and with a minimum of fuel being burned every hour. The most spectacular part is the acceleration from zero to full where only a couple of seconds are needed. You want to tow 30 skiers? No problem!
