JEANNEAU SUN ODYSSEY 34.2 - THE VERSATILE FAMILY CRUISER, READY TO CAST OFF
Built by Jeanneau in 1998, this Sun Odyssey 34.2 sums up what made the French yard so successful: an accessible, seakindly and comfortable cruising yacht, equally at home with a family aboard or a short-handed crew. Offered at €49,900 incl. VAT, she comes with an unusually complete inventory and several recent upgrades.
Build and seagoing qualities
Measuring 9.90 m overall with a 3.28 m beam and a shallow 1.30 m draft, she gives easy access to anchorages and shallow marinas while keeping sound manners at sea. The hull is polyester, the deck GRP - fibreglass. The rig includes a mainsail track and car, backstay, removable inner forestay for the staysail, halyards led aft to the cockpit and a boom fitted with lazy jacks and lazy bag for easy handling. Displacement: 4,650 kg.
Engine and accommodation
Power comes from a VOLVO MD 2030B diesel, 3-cylinder with raw-water cooling and stern drive transmission, showing 1,398 hours. At a 5-knot cruising speed, consumption is quoted at 1.5 l/h, with 120 litres of fuel and 120 litres of fresh water aboard. Below decks, 2 cabins and 6 berths plus a convertible saloon accommodate up to 8 people. The galley features a hob, oven, microwave and cool box, with hot water throughout, while the teak cockpit, sprayhood, bimini/sun awning, cockpit table, deck shower and bathing ladder round out life at anchor.
