Founded by John Barnett, designer and first builder of the BUTTERFLY class scow. First located in Libertyville, IL and then Kenosha, WI. The company was sold to Hedlund Industies in 1972 and production was moved to Green Lake, WI.
In 2007, the assetts were purchased by Windward Boatworks of Middleton, WI.

Located in New Bedford MA, USA, the company was well known for building commerical fishing vessels, whale boats, and Cape Cod catboats. Later became one of the first fabricators in the US of industrial, corrosion resistant, FRP equipment. Carl N. Beetle was the inventor of glass fiber gel-coated boat molds and the catalyst spray gun.
The company was sold to Marscot Plastics which, in turn, became a division of American Boat Building Co..

Founded by Norman J. Blanchard Sr.on the northeast side of Lake Union. It went on to become one of the best-known and respected boat shops in the northwest. In 1932, N.J. Blanchard and Ben Seaborn designed the BLANCHARD SENIOR KNOCKABOUT, a small cabin sloop, in response to comments made by local boaters about how the International Star design had no cabin. The BLANCHARD SENIOR was a cabin daysailer with the rig of a Star.

The BLANCHARD JUNIOR followed, a 20’ open sloop. The hull was scaled down version of the Senior.

Founded by Paul Blue and builder of the DEL REY line of cruising yachts from 24 to 50 feet. They were located in Torrance CA (USA).
