1989 Broom Monarch for sale in Kent
Designed by John Bennett, the Broom Monarch combines a fast offshore cruiser with an easy to handle boat for inland and coastal cruising. Interior layout offers a forward cabin fitted with the traditional V-berths, with a good sized galley and saloon. The aft end of the boat has a large en-suite owner's cabin with a double berth. Fitted with twin Sabre 225S, 225HP shaft driven engines. This motor cruiser is a great motor boat but would also make a fantastic liveaboard. This particular motor cruiser has had over £20,000 spent since 2021 updating her. The owner is selling as he is now looking for a larger Broom.
Accommodation :
The Broom Monarch offers four berths in two cabins with two en-suite heads.
The owners Aft Cabin has a large double berth with reading lights and overhead lights, opening portholes giving good ventilation, excellent storage with numerous lockers and drawers, two dressing tables with storage and mirrors. It has a very cosy, but also light and airy feel to it.
It has an Aft Cabin En-suite head to port with a manual flush toilet with holding tank, sink with pressurised hot and cold mixer tap, electric shaving point separate. Opposite to Starboard is a separate shower room with teak grated floor, heater outlet and shower curtain.
Steps lead up to the large saloon which has a large L shaped settee to port with recently fitted light blue upholstery, a breakfast bar forward with two standalone bar stools, sideboard with sliding cupboards to starboard and a large adjustable height saloon table. The saloon has large opening side windows and large forward screens which makes the saloon feel extremely light and airy. Table lamps make the saloon feel very cosy at night. The saloon has heater outlets, Pioneer CD/Radio player, sharp TV with Glomex antenna.
Steps lead down to the galley which has a gas oven/grill with 4 burner gas hob,(New 2022) Microwave oven, stainless steel sink with drainer with worktop infills, pressurised hot and cold mixer tap, 240v/Gas Electrolux fridge, 240v sockets. The galley has excellent storage cupboards with additional with underfloor storage.
The Forward Cabin has twin single 'V' berths with cubby hole lockers alongside and drawers under, reading lights, 240v sockets, heater outlet, opening side windows and escape hatch to foredeck.
Forward toilet/shower has a manual flush toilet to a holding tank, cupboard with shelves, opening side window, large sink with hot and cold taps, electric razor point, mirror.
In the cockpit there is a large Helmsman's seat for 2, large 'L' shaped seating to port, drop down seat to starboard, stainless steel folding radar arch, full aft canopy new in 2022, opening ports in front screens. The cockpit is a great entertainment area in the summer.

This Broom Monarch built in 1989 has a white GRP hull and superstructure with TecDec teak effect flooring in the cockpit and on the bathing platform. It has a semi-displacement hull. The vessel has been owned by the current owner since 2021 who had the vessel surveyed when purchased and has completed all of the recommendations. The owner has spent considerable funs upgrading this motor cruiser to a fantastic condition with new cookers, some electronics, carpets, upholstery throughout, re-vanished the woodwork. She feels almost like new. She was last out of the water in June 2023 when she was polished, antifouled and anodes changed. Engines were last serviced in February 2023. We don't think that you will find a better example on the market. the owner has full in love with the Broom brand that he is now looking for a larger Broom.

Engine hours as at 22nd November are Port 3194 Starboard 3206. Shaft driven to 3 bladed fixed propellers, Twin trim tabs. Stainless steel fuel tanks. She has a cruising speed of 15 knots and max speed of 18 knots.
Electrical Systems:
This motor cruiser has 6 x 24v batteries, 4 x Domestic, 2 x Engines all charged by engine alternators and Genset .It also has 1 x 12V Genset Battery. There is a 240v shore power connection with a ring main, immersion heater, and battery charger .
