The Wim van der Valk Continental 1700 is a spacious and solidly built steel motor yacht from 1997, designed and built by Wim van der Valk Jachten in Waalwijk. With her length of 18 meters, classic lines, and robust appearance, this vessel is well-suited for a comfortable stay on board, longer voyages, and sailing with multiple people.
The blue steel hull, white superstructure, and timeless design give the yacht a recognizable and traditional appearance. The chine hull, continuous keel, and twin rudders contribute to stable handling, while the outside steering position under the cockpit tent ensures a comfortable helm position with a good overview. The ship is practically laid out all around, featuring wide side decks, a full teak deck, an integrated swimming platform, and a sheltered aft deck with a new blue cockpit tent from 2026.
On board, the spacious and bright layout immediately stands out. The saloon forms the central living area and features large windows all around, allowing plenty of natural light to enter and providing a good view of the outside. The classic cherry wood interior combined with dark blue leather upholstery creates a warm and tranquil atmosphere. The layout is practically designed for both daily use and extended stays on board.
The ship features four cabins and six fixed berths. Located aft is the spacious owner's cabin with a freestanding double bed and plenty of privacy. Several guest accommodations are situated forward, including a second double cabin and additional single cabins. With two complete bathrooms, both equipped with an electric toilet and separate shower cubicle, the yacht offers great comfort for both owner and guests.
The galley is equipped for extended stays on board, including a Miele electric hob, Miele microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, and additional cooling space outside under the cockpit tent. Amenities such as central heating via a Kabola system, a washer-dryer combination, and a central vacuum system also contribute to practical comfort on board.
Propulsion is provided by two Vetus Deutz DT67 diesel engines of 231 hp each, coupled to propeller shafts. In combination with bow and stern thrusters, the vessel is highly maneuverable. Additionally, the yacht features ample fuel and water tank capacity, a generator, inverter, battery charger, and various navigation equipment.
