Züllig Ascona now in the online auction. Everyone can place bids until 16 November 2026.This Ascona is intended for enthusiasts of traditional craftsmanship, classic design and boating on inland waterways, lakes, ponds and rivers. In the past, she was used for holidays, including on the Mecklenburg Lake District. The current owner has owned her since 1995 and states that during this period she was maintained and technically inspected as part of his work as a car mechanic.
What engine does she have?Under her engine cover lies a 1970 OMC Hufr19e inboard engine. According to the available information, this six-cylinder petrol engine produces 155 hp. It is electrically started and connected to an inboard propulsion system. The stated maximum speed is approximately 65 kilometres per hour, depending on the load, water conditions and the technical condition during use.
The engine is stated to be in working order. A fuel gauge, oil-pressure gauge, temperature gauge and tachometer are also present. The fuel tank has a capacity of approximately 80 litres. According to the information provided, the engine was serviced in 2025. As with any classic boat, it is advisable to carefully inspect the engine compartment, propulsion system, wooden components and technical installations during the viewing day.
What equipment is on board? The Züllig Ascona has an indoor steering position with a steering wheel. Navigation equipment includes a depth sounder, compass, log and speedometer, as well as a VHF radio. The electrical system operates on 12 volts and includes a battery charger, inverter and voltmeter. One battery is present, with a stated capacity of 95 ampere-hours.
On deck, you will find an anchor with line, fenders, mooring lines and a boarding ladder. There is also an electric bilge pump, horn, DHI lighting and a searchlight. For protection against sun and weather, the boat comes with covers, including a camper canopy and cockpit cover. A CD radio and VHF radio are also included in the equipment. The available equipment makes her suitable for relaxed day trips and longer stays on sheltered inland waters, while taking into account the age of the technology and the wooden construction.
Is the boat supplied with a trailer?Yes, the Züllig Ascona is supplied with a braked Wiens Safety trailer from 2000. The road trailer has two axles, fourteen-inch wheels and a trailer winch. Its stated dimensions are approximately 6.60 metres long and 2.05 metres wide. The stated payload is 1,540 kilograms and the listed weight is 1,500 kilograms.
The presence of a trailer offers practical possibilities for storage and transport. During the viewing day, check whether the combination is suitable for your towing vehicle and also inspect the condition of the tyres, brakes, lights, winch and attachment points. The trailer is offered together with the boat and therefore forms an important part of the overall auction lot.
Who is this Ascona suitable for? This boat is a good fit for you if you are interested in classic wooden boats and value an authentic appearance. She is not a modern mass-produced boat and therefore requires attention to the woodwork, paintwork, seals and technical systems. It is precisely this traditional appearance that makes her appealing to someone looking for a boat with its own character on the water.
If you are looking to buy a boat with a distinctive historical appearance, you can inspect the Züllig Ascona at your leisure during the viewing day. Her dimensions are manageable, while her 155 hp engine can provide a sporty experience on the water. The boat has been used on inland waterways, lakes, ponds and rivers. When planning how to use her, it is important to take the draft, the age of the engine and the condition of the wood into account.
What should you look out for when buying a second-hand boat? When buying a second-hand boat, it is advisable to look beyond the appearance alone. Inspect the wooden hull, joints, deck, cockpit and areas where water may collect. Also look for signs of moisture, damage, peeling paint and the general condition of the interior. In the engine compartment, pay attention to leaks, wiring, hoses, fastenings and the available gauges.
According to the information provided, the available documentation consists of an Ausweis über das Kleinfahrzeugkennzeichen. During the viewing day, take the time to assess the boat, engine, equipment and trailer as a whole. An inspection by a specialist may be appropriate if you have little experience with wooden boats or classic inboard engines.
Which boat-buying tips are important? One of the most important boat-buying tips is to determine in advance what type of maintenance and storage suit you. A wooden boat generally requires suitable storage and regular attention to paintwork, wooden joints and seals. Also check whether the trailer, towing capacity and dimensions are suitable for your intended use.
This Züllig Ascona is offered through BoatAuction and can only be viewed during the scheduled viewing day. There, you can assess her appearance, finish, technical installation and trailer for yourself.
