Franchini 53L | 1996 | Torrevieja, Spain The Franchini 53L is a beautifully proportioned Italian sailing yacht combining classic styling with a practical centre-cockpit and raised-pilothouse layout. This particular example has benefited from an extensive programme of modernisation during 2025 and 2026, bringing her electrical, navigation and onboard systems up to a modern cruising standard while retaining the character and quality of her original design. At approximately 16.20 metres in length with a 4.78-metre beam, she offers generous accommodation and excellent volume for extended cruising. Her layout provides three comfortable double cabins plus a separate single skipper's cabin, with accommodation for up to eight people and two bathrooms, both equipped with electric marine toilets. She is particularly well suited to owners looking for a comfortable, autonomous cruising yacht capable of extended periods away from the marina. Her approximately 900-litre freshwater capacity, 600 litres of fuel across five stainless-steel tanks, and 8 kW Kohler generator provide a strong foundation for independent cruising. Her sailing systems have also been configured with ease of handling in mind. The mainsail and genoa are both fitted with Bamar electrically operated furling systems, while the staysail is manually furling. A Selden six-metre spinnaker/whisker pole is carried for additional sail options, and four Harken electric winches make sail handling considerably easier, particularly when short-handed.
