Popis +
This pre-owned 2010 Bavaria Cruiser 55 is a particularly attractive option for anyone seeking a large cruising sailboat featuring four cabins, excellent range, and a layout designed for comfortable sailing and living aboard. It has had only one owner since new and has never been used for charter.
The Cruiser 55 was conceived by Farr Yacht Design as the flagship of Bavaria’s Cruiser range: a large-scale production sailboat featuring a spacious cockpit, easy deck access, and an interior capable of accommodating family and guests while maintaining privacy.
This vessel is powered by a 110 HP Volvo Penta D3-110 engine with approximately 1,300 hours and a shaft drive. It is equipped with a Side-Power bow thruster, Mase generator, Aquabase watermaker, six Victron solar panels, a Victron inverter, updated Garmin electronics, and a hydraulic swim platform.
Significant maintenance work was carried out in 2026 on the engine, transmission, underwater hull, and swim platform, alongside the installation of a new Mase IS 5 generator. The result is a vessel with an exceptional level of equipment and major, costly systems recently serviced.
Why this Bavaria Cruiser 55 stands out
The main strength of this Bavaria Cruiser 55 lies not in a single feature, but in the overall package. Its four cabins and two heads, combined with 700-liter water and 380-liter fuel capacities, generator, watermaker, solar power, and generous interior volume, make it a highly logical choice for Mediterranean cruising, extended stays aboard, or family sailing.
Complementing this is a sail-handling system designed to minimize effort: in-mast furling mainsail and furling genoa, two electric Lewmar winches for the genoa, and a bow thruster, as well as a large hydraulic platform that facilitates both swimming and boarding from the tender. We also view the documented history of recent upgrades positively. On a vessel of this size, work such as engine and gearbox servicing, shaft and bearing inspection, replacement of the stern gland/stuffing box, antifouling, and hydraulic platform maintenance is more significant than a long list of minor accessories.

Engine: Volvo Penta D3-110
Power: 110 HP
Engine hours: Approx. 1,300
Drive: Shaft drive
Propeller: 3-blade aluminum
Bow thruster: Side-Power SE80, approx. 80 kgf thruster

Sails and rigging
Mainsail: Elvstrøm furling
Genoa: Elvstrøm furling
Gennaker / cruising spinnaker: Quantum furling system (currently without sail)
Winches: 2 electric Lewmar winches for the genoa
Standing rigging: original, inspected (per owner information)
UV protection: strip renewed approximately two years prior to listing
The furling mainsail and genoa configuration, combined with electric winches, greatly simplifies short-handed sailing. The sails are original and, according to the owner, remain usable—though they do require cleaning; we prefer to state this explicitly, as it is a detail a buyer of a sailboat of this size should be aware of from the start. Electronics and navigation
GPS / chartplotter: 2 x Garmin XSV 12” units installed in 2024
Radar: Garmin
AIS: Garmin
Navigation center: Garmin
Autopilot: Raymarine
Depth sounder: Raymarine
Speed/log: Raymarine

Compass: Plastimo
VHF: system renewed in 2025 (Garmin / Icom / Navicom, per inventory)
Repeaters: installed
Radar reflector: installed
The two 12-inch Garmin XSV units installed in 2024 and the VHF system upgrade in 2025 are particularly useful updates for a vessel designed for cruising and long-distance sailing.
Electrical system and autonomy
Generator: New Mase IS 5, installed in 2026
Inverter: Victron 110/220/12 V
Shore power connection: installed
Electrical system: 115/230 V AC and 12 V DC
Batteries: replaced in 2023
Charger: Victron; serviced in 2025
Solar power: 6 Victron panels
Watermaker: Aquabase installed in 2024, unused
Fresh water: 700 L
Fuel: 380 L
The generator, solar power, and watermaker allow for significantly greater independence from marinas compared to a standard configuration. It is precisely this combination—rather than any single accessory—that reinforces the vessel's suitability for extended cruising.
