Tons of Updates!! Great Raymarine Electronics w/Auto Pilot and Radar!! Set Up for Single Handed Sailing!! Dinghy w/4 Stroke OB!! Must Be Seen!!
If you are looking for a quality cruising sailboat that you can buy today and head to the Bahamas tomorrow, this 1984 Gulfstar 44 MK II is just the boat for you.
This one is in great condition with all the "bells and whistles" you want and need to make this Gulfstar a very capable sailing vessel and also the creature comforts necessary to make extended stays aboard both comfortable and convenient.
Below there are two large cabins, fore, and aft, with an attached head for each. The aft head includes a separate shower stall. Additionally, there are sleeping berths in the salon for three extra guests.
The salon is spacious with an L-shaped settee to port and a straight settee to starboard. A folding table between them provides a lot of meal-time space.
The galley includes a gimbaled stove/oven, a microwave oven, an in-counter refrigerator/freezer combo, and a double well stainless steel sink with both fresh water and raw water access. There is lots of storage and counter space, and a glass tile backsplash.
There is a large nav station that includes a Raymarine Axiom 12 MFD(includes radar), a Standard Horizon Matrix AIS VHF radio, and a Fusion stereo system with speakers in the salon and the cockpit.
Climate control below is provided by a Taylor Made 16,000 BTU air conditioner with reverse air heat. Additionally, there are plenty of portlights and hatches to catch the cool Caribbean breezes.
When not under sail the boat is powered by a 66 HP Perkins 4.154M diesel engine with 4250 hrs pushing a ZF direct drive transmission.
Off-grid electrical power is provided by an Onan 4.0MDKC generator with currently 3196 hrs. Additionally, there is an Air Breeze 12 V/25Amp/105 W wind generator.
Electric storage includes 2 Duracell group 27 batteries, 2 Napa group 24 batteries, and 2 West Marine batteries forward for the bow thruster.
There are curtains for the portlights, and all upholstery - both below and in the cockpit - appears to be in "like-new condition with no signs of tears or stains.
Moving topside, the cockpit is very spacious and the full enclosure with roll-up isinglass windows provides great protection from inclement weather and great ventilation with the windows rolled up. There is plenty of seating and the cushions are thick and comfortable. There are two stereo speakers connected to the Fusion stereo below.
The helm is conveniently laid out with switches to starboard, analog gauges to port, and navigational electronics up to eye level. These include a Raymarine Axiom 12 MFD including Raymarine Quantum 2 Doppler radar, Raymarine EV100 autopilot, and controls for the SidePower SE 100/185T bow thruster. Also included at the helm is a Danforth 5" liquid-filled magnetic compass.
Moving aft, the poop deck is large with a large lazarette. Above the stern is a davit/dinghy lift carrying the 2020 Zodiac Cadet 330 10'4" RIB tender. The Yamaha 9.9 HP 4-stroke outboard is mounted to the rail. The outboard has its own winch lift.
Moving forward, the standing rigging includes an extruded aluminum, keel step mast with internal support, double spreader main mast, and external ProFurl roller furler. The boom is extruded aluminum with cast aluminum gooseneck. There are stainless steel, 1x19 braided stainless steel main stays diameter with 5/8" turnbuckles. There is a ProFurl roller furler, 1/19 braided stainless steel fore stay with 3/4" turnbuckle, and stainless steel, 1x19 braided steel backstay with 5/8" turnbuckle.
