Asking Price: DKK 7,500,000

Yachtbasen is proud to present Sorte Louis – one of Denmark's most iconic floating hospitality venues.

Since 2016, Sorte Louis has been home to the renowned BådCafe in Marselisborg Marina, Aarhus, welcoming thousands of guests and becoming a landmark destination for dining, events and unforgettable waterfront experiences.

This is a unique opportunity to acquire a fully modernised, turnkey floating restaurant and event vessel with outstanding commercial potential. Whether your vision is to continue operating a successful hospitality business, create an exclusive event venue, establish a floating showroom or transform her into a spectacular luxury houseboat, Sorte Louis offers possibilities that very few vessels can match.

During the past two decades, more than DKK 10,000,000 has been invested in an extensive rebuilding programme including new technical installations, a complete aluminium superstructure and a completely redesigned interior. In reality, only the original timber hull remains from the historic ferry built in 1950.

The Story of Sorte Louis

Originally built in 1950 as a passenger and vehicle ferry, Sorte Louis has played an important role in Denmark's maritime heritage for more than seventy years.

Designed to carry up to 100 passengers and 8 vehicles, she served various Danish ferry routes before beginning an entirely new chapter.

Following an extraordinary transformation, she has evolved into one of Scandinavia's most distinctive floating hospitality venues while preserving the character and craftsmanship of her original construction.

Today, Sorte Louis successfully combines authentic maritime history with contemporary Scandinavian design, creating a destination unlike any other.

A Rare Investment Opportunity

Restaurant operations concluded in 2025, and the vessel is currently used as a creative workshop combined with a weekend cocktail bar. The complete commercial kitchen, restaurant equipment and technical installations remain fully intact, allowing new owners to restart restaurant operations quickly and efficiently.

Whether your ambition is to create a world-class floating restaurant, exclusive event venue, luxury waterfront residence or iconic commercial destination, Sorte Louis represents an exceptional investment where the significant development costs have already been made.

Opportunities like this rarely become available.
