GRAND SOLEIL 45 - THE FAST CRUISER BY CANTIERE DEL PARDO
Built in 1993 by the Italian yard Cantiere del Pardo, this Grand Soleil 45 sums up the brand's philosophy: a genuine bluewater cruiser with a sporty edge, happy to eat up the miles while remaining a pleasure at the helm. Thirteen metres of well-balanced hull, an interior designed for real life aboard with family or crew, and the seakeeping reputation that made the yard's name.
Built for the sea
GRP (fibreglass) hull, 13 m overall for a 4 m beam and 2.45 m draft: waterlines that favour speed and directional stability. The deck layout and rig suit both short-handed cruising and harder sailing, with the form stability and stiffness expected from a Grand Soleil.
Power and accommodation
The 55 hp Yanmar 4JH2E diesel, on shaft drive, shows 4,022 hours. It delivers a 7-knot cruising speed at around 3 l/h, with 11 knots top end; the 200-litre fuel tank gives comfortable range for passages and harbour approaches. Below, three cabins and six berths welcome up to 8 people aboard - an ideal layout for offshore cruising as well as coastal racing.
