Sunreef Yachts Unveils AI-Optimized Solar Skin 3.0

Sunreef Yachts has introduced Solar Skin 3.0, its latest in-house silicon solar cell technology for electric yachts and catamarans. More efficient and durable than previous versions, the new system uses AI and real-time data to dynamically adjust panel output, reducing shading losses and maximizing energy yield at sea.

A key feature of Sunreef Solar Skin 3.0 is its intelligent yield optimization capability. By leveraging advanced algorithms, the system dynamically adjusts electrical output based on changing light conditions, particularly in regions obscured by sail shadows or rigging.

To further augment performance, next-generation photovoltaic cells have been installed beneath the biminis, providing additional power even in partially shaded conditions. Developed in-house, the panels offer the highest efficiency currently achievable for silicon cells, maintaining top performance even in shaded or winter environments.

Deepnote: A photovoltaic (PV) cell, commonly called a solar cell, is a nonmechanical device that converts sunlight directly into electricity. Some PV cells can also convert artificial light into electricity. Sunlight consists of photons — particles of solar energy — which the PV cell captures and transforms into electrical current.
