Renken classic 700 now in the online auction. everyone can bid until 14 December 2026.
Renken Classic 700 at auctionWhat kind of boat is the Renken Classic 700?The Renken Classic 700 is a compact polyester boat with a length of approximately five metres, a width of two metres and a draft of around fifty centimetres. Her manageable dimensions make her suitable for use on inland waterways, canals, ditches, lakes, ponds and rivers. She may be of interest to someone looking for a simple boat for relaxing day trips, pleasure cruising or recreational use on sheltered waters.
The boat is in reasonable condition. This means that she may provide a usable starting point, but you should take into account that work, inspection and possibly maintenance may be required before you can actually use her. No information is available about the year of construction. There is also no extensive maintenance history. It is therefore important to carefully inspect the hull, deck, cockpit, interior and available equipment during the viewing day.
What is the background of this boat? This vessel was taken into custody after the performance of a government task. The original owner did not collect her afterwards. Once the statutory storage period had expired, the Renken Classic 700 became available through the auction. No additional information is available about her previous use or the reason why she was not collected.
The boat has previously been used on various types of inland waterways. According to the available information, she was used for day trips, pleasure cruising and sporting activities. This provides a general impression of her use, but says nothing about her current technical condition. You should therefore assess her condition independently during the viewing day.
Is the Renken’s engine operational? The boat has one engine, but its operation is unknown. Based on the available information, it cannot therefore be established whether the engine starts, runs properly or is immediately ready for use. You must inspect the technical condition of the engine, controls, fuel system, battery and any electrical systems during the viewing day, insofar as this is possible on location.
Take any inspection, repairs or replacement of parts into account when placing your bid. It may be advisable to determine in advance what technical costs you consider acceptable. As no test sail will take place and bidders cannot try out the boat, the assessment of the engine remains limited to the available information and anything that can be visibly checked during the viewing day.
What is included? No trailer is included with the Renken Classic 700. There is also no dinghy. You must therefore make your own arrangements for transporting the boat and for launching her after purchase or storing her ashore. Check in advance which facilities you have available or need to arrange for this.
The equipment present has not been specified in detail. During the viewing day, check which parts, accessories and loose items are present with the boat. Do not only look at what is visibly inside the boat, but also inspect the general condition of the cockpit, steering or controls, cushions if present, and the attachment of components. Anything that is not visibly present cannot be considered included.
What should you look out for during the viewing day?During the viewing day, you can inspect the boat up close. Take your time to assess the polyester hull, deck and interior. Look for damage, discolouration, cracks, signs of moisture, loose components and the condition of the floor and seating. Also check how the engine is mounted and which control elements are present.
As the technical operation has not been established, it is important to adjust your expectations accordingly. You may wish to prepare a list of boat-buying tips in advance so that you do not overlook anything during the inspection. Also check whether the dimensions are suitable for the place where you intend to store her and for the water on which you plan to use her. The viewing day is the appropriate opportunity to form as complete a picture of the boat as possible.
Who might this boat be suitable for? This Renken Classic 700 may suit someone who wants to buy a compact second-hand boat and is prepared to spend time on inspections and any necessary work. She may be of interest as a basis for peaceful recreational use on inland waterways, but her technical usability has not been established in advance. The boat is therefore particularly suitable for a buyer who carefully weighs the available information and allows for additional costs.
Those searching online to buy a boat may find an affordable entry into the world of pleasure boating at this auction. At the same time, this boat requires a realistic assessment. Inspect her during the viewing day, make a note of your findings and then determine which bid is appropriate given her condition, the unknown engine operation and the absence of a trailer. This will help you participate in the auction with realistic expectations.
